Playwriting Project
I started off writing a play with Destiny Robbins about two girls that are sister and their mom and dad die so the oldest sister, Kaitlyn is taking on the role of being in charge and trying to make sure her little sister, Madison has a good life. Kaitlyn soon starts having money problems and it ends up getting bad that it leads her to sell drugs. One day Kaitlyn doesnt give the drug dealer, Zee her money so she hunts her down. Zee storms into Kaitlyns apartment with a gun and demands the money. Somehow Zee drops her gun and Kaitlyn grabs it. Kaitlyn is scared and she thinks the only way to fix her problem is by shooting Zee but as shes about to Madison walks into the room and accidentally gets shot by Kaitlyn. Now Kaitlyn has to live with the guilt. Our play requirements were that they had to have a tragedy in it. We had to have a complete script and storyboard.

The Great Dionysus Project
We wrote a play with a partner that has a tragedy. We narrowed down the plays so we can choose our class play and that play will compete with the other 9th grade classes. After we selected our class play we separated in groups writers, costumes, backdrop, and many others. We do two school performances, a night performance, and a special judges performance only for the judges.
Our class play is called Don't Mean Thing. Our plays about two brothers, Paul and Sam they are marines and go Vietnam. Paul is older and Sam is mentally challenged. Paul tries to fit in with he other marines but with trying to fit in he doesn't take care of Sam and Sam ends up dying. The social issue is trying to fit in.
My role in the play was to do the backdrop. When I first got assigned this job my other group members and I we brainstormed some ideas for the backdrop. When we had our design we sketched it on a huge canvas. After we thought our sketch was pretty accurate do the design we wanted we started painting it. I took a while to plaint because of the many details and because it was a huge canvas.
This play helped me with my writing skills. It also helped me with working with different people and learning who I work good with and who I don't work good with. I think projects like this have great people skills and will help me in the future.
